Earlham College requires a VPN for off-campus access to College-hosted information systems that contain Restricted and Private data, including Banner, Argos, the G Drive, and additional resources.

Verify VPN is already installed.
Please Note: The Cisco AnyConnect VPN is installed by default on most Earlham College laptop and desktop deployments.
Launch the “Start Menu”. If the “Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client” appears in your start menu under the “Cisco” folder, Then the VPN is already installed. Please proceed to the “Connecting to VPN” portion of this article. If not, please proceed to the “Installing VPN” portion of the article.
Installing VPN

To download the VPN client, access https://ecvpn.earlham.edu/+CSCOE+/logon.html. After logging in, Click Download.
Locate and open the downloaded install package.
Click “Next” on the “Welcome to the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Wizard” screen.
Agree to the software License Agreement and click “Next.”
Click “Install” to begin the installation.

You have successfully installed the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and can begin using it. Click “Finish” to exit the Setup Wizard.
Connecting to VPN
Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client from the “Start Menu”.
The Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client login will appear. Ensure it says ecvpn.earlham.edu. If it doesn’t, you will need to enter ecvpn.earlham.edu. Click Connect.
Please Note: The first time you connect, it will ask about running scripts. Please select yes when prompted.
You will receive a pop-up screen displaying the Earlham log-in service. Please input your Earlham credentials. Select “Sign In”
You will receive a notification that you have connected to ecvpn.earlham.edu. A small icon in the bottom right will also verify this connection.
Disconnecting from VPN
To disconnect from OpenVPN, locate the earth icon with a padlock in your icon bar.
Right click the icon and select Disconnect.
You will receive a confirmation that VPN is disconnected. The globe icon will no longer have a padlock. When hovering over this icon, It will also display as disconnected.
