OWL Meeting Camera

The Meeting Owl is a combined speaker, microphone, and camera. This can be used in combination with Zoom to connect a small classroom discussion with a group of remote users.

How to set up the Owl

  1. Remove the Owl from the box and place it on a table or raised surface in the center of the room. The Owl is most effective when users surround it at equal distances.

  2. Connect the Owl to your computer.

    1. Connect power and micro USB cables into the bottom of the Owl

    2. Connect the Owl to a power source and wait until Owl’s eyes stop pulsing and you hear a hoot.

    3. Connect the USB cable from the Owl to your computer. Use an adapter if needed.

  3. If available, connect the room’s monitor/projector to your computer.

  4. Begin your Zoom meeting.

  5. When prompted, select “Join with Computer Audio.”

  6. Verify that the microphone, speaker, and video have “Meeting Owl” selected.

  7. Verify that the video source is “Meeting Owl.”

We recommend using “Gallery View” in Zoom when projecting and attempting to interact with remote users. You can change this setting in Zoom in the upper right during an active call.
